Trip to the Phoenix Zoo. What's a vacation without a zoo visit?

A photographer was taking pictures of families as they entered the zoo. When we were getting ready to leave the zoo, we stopped to look at the photos. There was one where they had her hold her hands out and then they photoshopped an animal into the photo. They were like $16 a piece, so not worth it. So, on the way out of the zoo in the gift shop, Bruce has Allison hold one of the stuffed animals in the same pose for me to photograph. It is much cuter.
We saw some flamingoes that were much pinker later on....
I love otters.
Two playful orangatans
These groundhog things were so fun to watch. They were sooo chunky.
We try to at least drive by if not visit the state capitol in the state we visit, if we are able to, so this is the Arizona State Capitol Museum in Phoenix. It is no longer the active home of the government business; it was turned into a museum 20-30 years ago. The governor is housed in the ugly building in the rear of the old capitol building.
Had to get one more photo of a cactus...they are obviously all over the place.
This is a view of the courtyard swimming area of the hotel we stayed in Friday night. It was very cool. Kind of a new age type of hotel, Hotel Clarendon.
