Radio Station Chamber Mixer
And then don't you think the week was busy enough?.....we also hosted a Chamber of Commerce Mixer on Wednesday after work. Bruce has owned his company for 25 years this year, so it marks a landmark in his career. The radio station has been on the air since 1956, so 57 years now, and he has worked there since he was 15, which would be 36 years, and now owned it for 25 years. Pretty cool!
This photo is just the couple of full time help, and the part-time help who work doing various jobs here at the radio station.

9th Birthday and Last Soccer Games Weekend!
I am feeling like the world's worst mother! October 12 was Allison's 9th Birthday, and we had 5 other girls over at the house that Friday night for a slumber party. I was actually very nervous...why I don't know, but it went very well.
Did I take any pictures that night or on Saturday of her birthday? Heck, no! Geez...
I did however get this picture on Sunday afternoon after Allison's final soccer game of the season. It was not, unfortunately, her shining example of good sport (she really didn't try very hard, and showed her passive-aggressive side), but I figure she was a) tired from a busy weekend, or b) preparing us for her upcoming adolescence!

I never met this man, David Welch, and yet this has been a story that has been so heartbreaking. His hometown is actually where I now live; I work with a classmate of his from high school, and I know his dad, a very, very sweet older gentleman, whose wife passed away earlier this year. Interestingly enough, I had not seen Bob around town since his son went missing, and then Wednesday he was at the radio station where we were hosting a Chamber of Commerce Mixer; then Friday, his son was discovered dead in a ravine in Utah. So, so sad..... So, now, here it today's headline...that David Welch wrote notes to his family as we was in his crashed van, waiting to die. Sends chills. I hope that these notes do shed some light on what was going on, and brings some peace to the family, and not more heartache and "what-ifs".
