Gratitude

I'm not feeling all that gracious about the weather right now...supposed to be freezing drizzly stuff off and on pretty much all weekend...ick!

So..........I am trying to think of things I AM grateful for...............

1.  My beautiful, intelligent (although sometimes ornery and mouthy) daughter, Allison.
2.  My incredibly supportive husband, Bruce.
3.  A beautiful, comfortable, warm home.
4.  A car that runs...most of the time...pretty much....
5.  My family, although I don't get to see them as much as I should (ahem...Amy....ahem....).
6.  My education...very grateful I was able to go to college. I do hope/wish sometimes that someday maybe I can go back and get my master's degree.
7.  My teaching degree...even though I don't technically use it to its extent right now, I'm still how happy and proud to have achieved it.
8.  Friends and acquaintances.
9.  Having a fair degree of intelligence and creativity...I'm not the brightest bulb in the package, but I'm also not the dimest! :)
10.  Opportunities that are not always available to everyone!

to be continued............................................

Subbing

Had a great subbing day today.  It's been about a month and a half since I've subbed.  It feels like such a long time ago.  I was supposed to sub again tomorrow, but the teacher's conference 2nd day was cancelled due to the threat of bad weather...:( bummer!  Well, at least I'm scheduled for a couple more days next week (crossing fingers).

Hiding Out

Dad and daughter day...so I'm 'hiding out' at the radio station now after tutoring.  Is that silly, or what?  Oh well!

Little Cheerleaders

Gotta go pick up the Little Miss here in a few minutes.  She has spent the morning at the high school cheerleaders "Little Cheerleader Camp" this morning.  After three snow days this week, the school had a scheduled day off again today! :)  She's been really looking forward to going to this ever since she brought the information sheet home.  After a week of feeling poorly, I hope she had fun this morning.

Family Storytime ... Making Homemade Ice Cream

Family storytime last night had a very small group, but that's okay.  They did a fun activity, and it required some patience on the part of the kids.  They all did excellent, however.  They made homemade ice cream.  Allison and her friend, Aleah, were partners, and tossed the bag of milk & sugar back and forth to form ice cream.  It did a good job, but Allison didn't like the taste. I didn't try it, but Aleah thought it tasted like salt, so we are thinking that the bag must've leaked a little bit.  It was a great activity and great fun.We really ought to try it here at home.  We really ought to try to make some snow ice cream, too.

Dad Training His Some-Day Replacement

Went to Hiawatha with dad last Saturday afternoon for the championship game of the Hiawatha Girls' Invitational Basketball Tourney of which the Marysville girls were playing.  I hadn't gone to a high school basketball game for a number of years. I had always gone with Bruce to football and basketball before Allison was born, but once she came along I stayed home.  Well, as Allison got older and it would have become easier to go along, I lost interest.  It was nice to just stay at home. It was nice, however, to go along this time.

Bruce had also commented awhile back that we needed to get more pictures for the radio station website/Facebook page of staff doing things, getting out and about, etc.  So, these pictures served several purposes.  Allison looks so important.  Radio is just going to be second nature to her, and she's even pretty comfortable public speaking already. I hope that continues.
